At Southside, we seek to build real followers of Jesus. What does that mean? We want people to be themselves, be genuine, and not feel like they have to hide behind a mask. We believe that relationships encourage action, and that action leads to life change.

Burn | “Live it!” | Colossians 3:1-17
God never intended our faith to be a one-time experience or a momentary spark. The fire He starts in us is meant to grow, mature, and impact others. In "Live it!" from our “Burn” series, we look at Colossians 3 to discover what a life truly on fire actually looks like.
Christianity was never meant to be something we believe on Sunday and ignore on Monday. When Christ is at the center, nothing is ordinary anymore—the ordinary becomes extraordinary!
SCRIPTURE:
• Colossians 3:1-17
1 If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.
2 Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.
3 For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
4 When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
5 Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.
6 On account of these the wrath of God is coming.
7 In these you too once walked, when you were living in them.
8 But now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth.
9 Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old self with its practices
10 and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator.
11 Here there is not Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave, free; but Christ is all, and in all.
12 Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience,
13 bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.
14 And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.
15 And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.
16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
17 And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Are you ready for a new season?
We’ve been journeying through our LISTEN series, discovering that God doesn't just speak to inform us—He speaks to move us. But often, the biggest barrier to moving forward is the comfort of where we’ve been or the fear of what lies ahead.
In this message, "Move Forward," we look at Joshua 1 and the transition God called Joshua to make after the death of Moses. If you’ve been feeling stagnant or overwhelmed by the obstacles in front of you, this message is for you. We explore how to break free from the past, rely on the constant presence of God, and find the courage to take the next step.
In this sermon, you will learn: Why you can never take new ground while living in the past. How to distinguish between "absence of fear" and true, biblical courage. Why God’s presence doesn't remove every obstacle, but changes how we face them. The connection between obedience and the growth of your courage.
Key Scripture: "Haven’t I commanded you: be strong and courageous? Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." — Joshua 1:9
Scripture Reference List:
Joshua 1:1-9 – The commission of Joshua: Moving forward into new territory.
Isaiah 43:18-19 – A reminder that God is always doing something new.
Matthew 28:20 – The promise of God’s presence always.
Psalm 27:1 – Finding strength in the Lord.
John 10:27 – "My sheep hear My voice, I know them, and they follow Me."

Is God calling you to move, but you're waiting for the whole map?
Throughout Scripture, whenever God spoke, His people were faced with a decision: ignore His voice or respond with faith. We often treat faith as a static state of mind, but the truth is that faith always requires movement. When God speaks, He rarely explains the entire journey—He simply asks us to take the next step. In this message, "Step Out," we continue our LISTEN series by looking at the life of Abram in Genesis 12. Abram left his comfort, his land, and his security to follow a God who promised a future he couldn't yet see. If you’ve been feeling stuck, remember: you will never become who you were made to be by staying where you are.
In this sermon, you will learn:
Why God often speaks before He explains the details. The danger of letting your comfort keep you from God’s future.
How to trust God one step at a time rather than one year at a time.
Why building "altars" of worship is more important than building a life of comfort.
Key Scripture: "So Abram went, as the Lord had told him... Abram was 75 years old when he left Haran." — Genesis 12:4 Scripture Reference List Genesis 12:1-9 – The calling of Abram and his obedient response. Hebrews 11:8 – "By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed and went out... not knowing where he was going."
Proverbs 3:5-7 – Trusting in the Lord rather than relying on our own understanding.
Romans 12:1-2 – Presenting our lives as living sacrifices and renewing our minds to discern God’s will.
John 10:27 – "My sheep hear My voice, I know them, and they follow Me."

Is God speaking to you right now?
We often wish God would speak to us clearly, but the truth is, the problem usually isn’t that He has stopped speaking—it’s that we have become too accustomed to the noise of the world. We want God to speak on our terms, but He often calls us in the quiet, the unexpected, and the mundane. In this message, "Wake Up," we kick off our new series, LISTEN: When God Speaks, Everything Changes. By looking at the story of young Samuel in 1 Samuel 3, we explore how to move from not recognizing God’s voice to walking in His plan. If you are ready to stop drifting and start hearing, it's time to wake up.
In this sermon, you will learn: Why God often speaks when you least expect it. How to position yourself to hear God’s voice on His terms. The connection between spiritual maturity and the ability to listen. Why the people you surround yourself with can either amplify or dampen God's voice in your life.
Key Scripture:
"Then the Lord called Samuel, and he answered, 'Here I am.'" — 1 Samuel 3:4
Scripture Reference List
1 Samuel 3:1-10 – The call of Samuel: Learning to recognize and respond to the voice of God.
John 10:27 – "My sheep hear My voice, I know them, and they follow Me." Psalm 1:1 – The importance of who we surround ourselves with in our spiritual walk.

Are you holding on too tight?
We all want a full life—full of purpose, joy, and meaning—but so many of us spend our time trying to fill it ourselves, leaving us running on empty. What if the secret to a life that truly overflows isn't about how much you can hold onto, but how much you are willing to pour out? In this message, "When God Becomes Your Source" we continue our Overflow series by diving into 2 Corinthians 9.
While many treat generosity as just a financial issue, the truth is that it is a fundamental heart issue. When we learn to live with open hands, we stop viewing giving as a "loss" and start seeing it as the spiritual planting that leads to a harvest of grace. In this sermon, you will learn: Why generosity is a matter of the heart rather than an obligation. The difference between "sowing sparingly" and "sowing bountifully." How to overcome the fear that often prevents us from being generous. The four powerful fruits that result from a life lived open-handed: supplied needs, increased thanksgiving, demonstrated faith, and strengthened community.
Key Scripture:
"So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver." — 2 Corinthians 9:7
Scripture Reference List
2 Corinthians 9:6 – The principle of sowing and reaping.
2 Corinthians 9:7-8 – Generosity as a heart-led, cheerful response to God’s grace.
2 Corinthians 9:10-14 – The fourfold results of generosity in the life of the believer.
2 Corinthians 9:15 – The ultimate act of generosity: God’s indescribable gift.

Are you ready for a harvest?
We all want a life full of purpose, joy, and meaning, but we often find ourselves frustrated by our current circumstances while neglecting the seeds we are planting today. If you want to live a life that overflows, you have to stop trying to fill it yourself and start planting in the right soil. In this message, "It Starts with a Seed," we continue our Overflow series by looking at the powerful truth in Galatians 6. Every harvest begins with a seed, and every seed matters. We explore why we cannot reap what we wish for—only what we sow—and why God often uses our smallest, most intentional acts to bring about a massive impact.
In this sermon, you will learn: Why life moves in the direction of what you plant. The difference between sowing to the "flesh" versus sowing to the "Spirit." How to push past the temptation to quit when the harvest feels delayed. Practical ways to plant intentionally and trust God with the increase. Key Scripture: "Don’t be deceived: God is not mocked. For whatever a man sows he will also reap."
— Galatians 6:7 Scripture Reference List Galatians 6:7-8
– The principle of sowing and reaping. Galatians 6:9-10
– The call to perseverance in doing good. John 15:5
– The necessity of remaining connected to the Vine for fruitfulness. Ephesians 3:20-21
– A reminder of God’s power to do more than we can ask or think. Subscribe to our channel and turn on notifications so you never miss a message from our Overflow series.

On this Mother’s Day, we dive into a powerful question: Is there more?
Many of us are living lives that feel "formless and empty," much like the chaos described in Genesis. We’ve been saved, but we’re sitting. We have the promise, but we lack the power. In this message, we explore Jesus' radical invitation in John 7 to those who are spiritually thirsty.
In this video, you will discover:
• The Invitation to Come: Why Jesus invites you into His presence before you have it all figured out.
• The Invitation to be Filled: How "Christ in you" is not just a better version of your old life, but an entirely different way of living.
• The Invitation to Overflow: Using the examples of the Woman at the Well and Mary Magdalene to see how a life filled by the Spirit becomes a source of life for everyone else.
Scripture References:
• John 7:37-38
• John 4:28-30
• Genesis 1:2
• Colossians 1:27
Key Takeaway:
The powerfully healed become powerful healers. God doesn't just want to pour into you; He wants to flow through you. If you feel like you’re running on fumes, it’s time to trade your "water jar" for the "living water" that never runs dry.
